Ways to Give

All donations are tax-deductible.

  • EasyTithe: This is our online giving platform, where you can make a one-time donation or set up recurring automatic gifts. It accepts credit cards, debit cards and bank transfers, though it does add on a small fee. You will find it here: www.easytithe.com/saintolga
  • Bill Pay: Most banks offer automated regular payments through their “Bill Pay” service. For this you only need the church’s name and address (see below). This service is typically free and is preferred because it does not include a fee and allows for automated giving.
  • Mail: Cash or checks (made out to St. Olga Orthodox Church) to:

Why Give

Tithing should be an integral part of every Orthodox Christian’s spiritual growth, as it has long been taught in Scripture and by the Church. It is an honor to express our gratitude to God and His Church in this way, and through it we seek to build up His kingdom as well as our own spiritual lives. The invisible blessings that flow from making tithing part of our spiritual discipline are invaluable. Giving is one part of the basic tripod of the spiritual life: prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

Stewardship for church members should be planned in advance, based on a sacrificial portion of one’s income, with a goal of giving 10 percent. It should be offered cheerfully and regularly, given from one’s “first fruits,” not from what is “left over.” It should also be consistent and dependable, independent of attendance. To avoid pride, it should remain private — “do not let your left hand see what your right hand is doing.”

Quietly placing a check in the donation box is a good option for tithing, but the best approach is to set up direct, automated giving. Consistent, reliable electronic giving not only helps you stay on track with your contributions, but also allows the parish to better plan and budget for its needs.
